BMI Live Pays Songwriters for Public Gigs

Broadcast Music, Inc. hopes to increase royalties to songwriters through a new program, BMI Live. Paying royalties for live performances in clubs, bars, restaurants and other music venues, BMI Live has begun supporting artists even more through royalty payments according to set listings. By entering your set list and the date, place and venue of your performance, BMI Live will distribute quarterly payments each year. As a BMI artist, you just have to sign up by indicating your preference in depositing. The rate is determined by the number of performances you report during the period of payment as well as the general licensing fees, which vary from quarter to quarter.

If you’re already a BMI registered-artist, sign up for BMI Live here.

Signing up for BMI licensing is a pretty sweet deal considering there is no charge to affiliate or register songs. Check out this link.
