Record Store Day on Saturday, April 21

Founded on an idea originally concocted by Chris Brown’s and kicked off by Metallica in 2007, Record Store Day’s international celebration of record stores takes place every year on the third Saturday in April.

Beginning on midnight on Friday night, Wuxtry Records will be open until 2 a.m. with giveaways, live music, and of course, the exclusive releases that have become synonymous RSD. Record stores across the nation offer limited runs of vinyl and CDs put out just for Record Store Day each year. For Wuxtry in 2012, these RSD offers include the Futurebirds’ new 12-inch vinyl and the Patterson Hood and the Downtown 13 7-inch vinyl single, “After It’s Gone.”

Other Athens record stores participating in the day include Rock & Roll Circus and Low Yo Yo Stuff. For an extensive list of releases on Record Store Day, check out:[link text][1]
