This Wednesday, Athens residents will have the opportunity to experience some of the best music Cuba has to offer.
The recent lifting of the U.S. travel ban has ushered in a new era in American-Cuban relations. The Havana Cuba All-Stars are celebrating this development by touring the U.S. and Canada for the first time.
True to the group’s name, the Havana Cuba All-Stars portray and promote the musical legacy of their home country. With a combination of voice, steel guitar, bongos, violin and a slew of other instruments, the group exemplifies the traditional sounds of a nation once muffled.
Composed of some of Cuba’s most prominent players, the band is sure to send audience members on a journey to our Southern neighbor.
The Havana Cuba All-Stars play Hodgson Concert Hall Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $26–41 and available here.
