Participants in the third annual Maximus Y Strongman Challenge haven’t let those dreams fade. Men and women of all sizes and ages will unleash their inner Hercules and participate in a variety of grueling events in a quest for local strongperson supremacy. No doubt they’re inspired by event organizer and real-life strongman Orlando Maximus Green. Though knee injuries have sidelined Green from competition, the chiseled fortysomething is a renowned dead-lifter with world records. Unfamiliar with the event? It’s the ultimate test of strength, and there are some gruesome internet videos that prove it.
