7. Deafheaven: New Bermuda
Gabe: On New Bermuda, the stilted self-consciousness that marred the band’s breakthrough LP, Sunbather, gave way to stylistic transcendence, as the Bay Area band fully realized its dream-rock potential.
Blake: Dammit, Gabe, you were doing so well.
Iris: This perked her right the hell up. “Dat dat?” (Translation: “What is that?”) I don’t know, sweetheart, it sounds like some kinda proggy death metal or something. Ask your Uncle Gabe. Four milks out of four.
