Hometeam Selector is an interactive catalog of DJs local to Athens, Ga. While many of these artists are also composers and producers of music, here we’re concerned with what they’re mixing in 2012. Flagpole asked a few simple questions to give you a vibe on what to expect when catching these DJs around town. Click on a name to be taken to a homepage if one was provided.

Basically whatever micro genre the internet creates / makes popular for a few minutes. I was stuck on Moombahton (see Dillon Francis – Masta Blasta) for quite a while. I still love it. It’s a mix of dutch house style sounds with the Reggaeton dem bow (you know the un-cha un-cha kinda beat). Right now I’m really obsessed with Trap, which, is basically dirth south hip hop style instrumentals spaced way the fuck out and weirder (see Baauer).
***How do you perform live?***
I use Ableton Live, an APC40 and a 2 channel Rane mixer.
***Shows on the horizon?***
I’m DJing in space for aliens.
***Who are some of your favorite DJs?***
Diplo, Sinden, Mumdance, Sam Tiba, Baauer, DJ Craze, Dirty South Joe.

Crunk. If the speakers ain’t about to blow, we don’t like it. But we can play em all, we’re versatile.

Dell Laptop (about to switch to Mac), 8TB hard drive, and the Numark Mixtrack Pro (soon to be Numark NS7)

We play every friday night at the Suburban Lounge on Danielsville Road (Hwy 106) and tour with our artists Josh Smith and Lil Reese. Look for their upcoming albums soon, Famous and Nameless – Josh Smith and The Dealer – Lil Reese.

Dj Drama, Dj Scream, Dj Holiday, Dj Kidd, Kid Capri, FunkMaster Flex, Dj Premiere, Dj Baby Yu, Greg Street, Dj Jaycee, shoot man we could go all day. LOL, its a lot of great djs out there.
