The 10th annual LaughFest arrives embroiled in some minor controversy, after AthFest made the decision to cut ties with the event. Organizer Chris Patton says, due to a falling-out with the festival and a general sense of fatigue, this will likely be the show’s last edition. In the spirit of celebrating its legacy, the lineup is mostly made up of performers who have previously made a splash at LaughFest. Headliner David Perdue (not the senator) has appeared on Comedy Central, TruTV and the OWN network, and is known regionally for running Atlanta’s popular 1AM Secret Show. Openers Noell Appling and Samm Severin have also graced the LaughFest stage before, leaving Atlanta-based comedian Mandal as the sole newcomer.
