In an unprecedented twist of fate, representatives for the city of Austin announced the cancelation of this year’s South by Southwest festival on Friday afternoon due to concerns over the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
All official concerts and day parties have been nixed, leaving the just as numerous amount of unofficial shows and events in a state of flux as they decide their next move. It is chaos!
On a local level, Tiger Bomb Promo’s official showcase has been canceled, as have Alyssa DeHayes’ showcases through Arrowhawk Records and Riot Act Media. SXSW represents the anchor and catalyst behind touring for many bands, who will now have to decide whether to journey full speed ahead or abandon ship altogether.
