Flagpole Premieres: Blanko, ‘Hallelujah’ Video

Relatively new Athens project Blanko isn’t a band in the traditional sense. Rather, it’s an audio-visual outlet for the skewed musings of local songwriter and artist Larson Collier, known for playing with indie rockers Big Morgan.

Collier’s cartoons, which you can check out on his Instagram, split the difference between politically loaded and patently absurd. Blanko’s new music video, for the jaunty “Hallelujah”—a song that also features Jack O’Reilly on banjo, Merideth Hanscomb on bass and Robert Smith on drums—tends toward the latter.

Check out the exclusive clip below:

Blanko will release a debut EP this winter via Goe Bidem Records. In the meantime, you can catch the crew at Creature Comforts tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 22, where they’ll appear with Scooterbabe, Worlds Greatest Dad and Gary Lazer Eyes.
