Cindy Wilson, Mothers, Oak House, Muuy Biien to Play ‘Athens in Austin’ Mar. 18

Among the most anticipated “unofficial” day parties at music-industry behemoth South by Southwest is the annual Athens in Austin event, presented by the Georgia Theatre and a host of other Athens businesses, including Flagpole.

This year’s showcase—happening Saturday, Mar. 18 at downtown Austin watering hole The Side Bar—will be its 11th, and it’s appropriately titled Athens in Austin Presents: To Eleven.

Performing artists include The B-52s’ Cindy Wilson—who just dropped a slinky, synth-y surprise EP, which you can stream below—as well as locals Muuy Biien, Oak House, Mothers, Thayer Sarrano, Eureka California, Chief Scout and more. Out-of-towners—or honorary Athenians—playing include The Dexateens, Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires and The Nude Party.

The concert is free, though capacity is limited, so get there early!
