Unknown Hinson, Shehehe, Andrea & Mud

Created by musician Stuart Baker in the early 1990s for an obscure North Carolina public access show, Unknown Hinson has become one of the premier cult-rock figures in the Southeast, a drunken rockabilly vampire with a penchant for vaguely problematic songwriting. Steeped in redneck culture but armed with a sly sensibility, tunes like “Peace, Love and Hard Liquor” and “I Ain’t Afraid of Your Husband” meld Hinson’s love of classic country and shit-kicking psychobilly. Baker, who also voices the main character on “Squidbillies,” plays his now-annual Halloween show Friday with support from local punks Shehehe and Atlanta country duo Andrea and Mud.
