The Future Is Voting Tour

Known for fronting roots-rock monolith My Morning Jacket, as well as for his work with supergroup Monsters of Folk, singer-songwriter Jim James is fulfilling his civic duty with his The Future Is Voting Tour, which stops off at the Georgia Theatre Monday. The tour, organized in tandem with voter-participation nonprofit HeadCount, is designed to hit hotly contested congressional districts and states and aims to increase turnout in the upcoming midterm election. Blues-rocker Benjamin Booker joins James for his Athens show, while special guests for a planned town-hall segment include Mayor-elect Kelly Girtz. UGA students can get in free with ID by RSVPing at the Georgia Theatre website.
