True Believer: The Journey of Kelly Codling follows the life story of the entrepreneur behind Kelly’s Jamaican Foods, an Athens staple still going strong after nearly 20 years. Raised on a large-scale farm in rural Jamaica, Kelbourne “Kelly” Codling learned traditional cooking techniques from his grandmother, and after years of adventuring through America, settled down in the Classic City to share his spicy Caribbean cuisine. Published by Bilbo Books, the memoir includes a collection of recipes for popular dishes, as well as a Jamaican patois dictionary. After Codling finishes signing copies, everyone is invited to walk over to the nearby restaurant for dinner.
