Keep Georgia Beautiful’s annual program has recycled 6 million Christmas trees since its inception over two decades ago. Undecorated trees can be traded in for a free seedling, and the mulch from old trees will be repurposed for playgrounds, yards and beautification projects. Drop-off locations include Cofer’s Home and Garden Showplace, Clarke Middle School, Sandy Creek Nature Center and Chase Street Elementary School. If you miss Saturday’s event, you can also leave trees in marked areas at the Georgia Square Mall theater parking lot, Winterville Public Works Building and Lexington Road Tag Office from Dec. 25–Jan. 12.
