The Oconee Youth Playhouse presents the Broadway musical based on Amanda Brown’s novel and the 2001 rom-com. Recent Athens Academy graduate Annabelle Woodard plays Elle Woods, a California sorority girl who attempts to win back her ex-boyfriend, Warner (played by Florida State’s Simon Beckham), by enrolling at Harvard Law School. While interning for Professor Callahan (UGA student Zac Deaton) to defend fitness queen Brooke Wyndham (Chloe Carmichael), who has been accused of her husband’s murder, Elle falls in love with fellow student Emmett (Jeremiah Smith). OYP’s Terra and Shane Hannon have directed over 50 productions since launching the nonprofit nearly 20 years ago.
