Tall Tall Trees

Known by Athenians as a member of Kishi Bashi’s touring band, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Savino pursues his own creative ends with Tall Tall Trees, a project he has helmed for the past decade. The group’s third full-length, Freedays, released in February via Joyful Noise, is the first Tall Tall Trees album to feature only Savino. The solo outing reflects a move from New York to the rural South, and is a distillation of the musician’s singular sound and vision, featuring his trusty “Banjotron 5000”—a banjo transformed by loops and various other effects into a nearly unrecognizable version of itself.
