Classic City American Music Festival

A blessed burst of musical energy during Athens’ otherwise sluggish summer, the family-friendly Classic City American Music Festival returns to The Foundry for a ninth installment this holiday weekend. This year’s all-day lineup includes local bluegrass mainstays Packway Handle Band and former Athenian singer-songwriter Lera Lynn—of “True Detective” Season Two fame—as well as legendary swamp-rockers Chickasaw Mudd Puppies, Caleb Caudle, Athens Cowboy Choir, Cortez Garza, Norma Rae, Drew Kohl and several others. The music will be split between an indoor and an outdoor stage, and food will be available for purchase.
