Vets for Pets and People Fundraiser

In addition to providing foster care to Athens pets while their owners seek shelter from violent living situations through Project Safe, UGA vet-school organization Vets for Pets and People works to shed light on the under-recognized link between domestic violence and animal abuse. The group hosts a fundraiser at Little Kings on Friday, featuring music from four area acts: hooky garage-pop duo Femignome and shoegaze standouts Twin Studies, both from Atlanta, and punk bands Einschlagen and Deep State, from Athens. The latter band is set to release Thought Garden, its luminous label debut, Apr. 15. Look for more on Deep State in next week’s Flagpole.
