An Evening at Downton Abbey

Circle Ensemble Theatre Company has recently partnered with Winterville to renovate the city’s old high-school theater, which has burned twice, to be used as a space for workshops, plays and performances. Proceeds from the event will help fund Oh! What a Lovely War, the company’s inaugural production at the Winterville Auditorium, which happens to resemble a bombed-out building in its current stage of renovation. Set for Apr. 20–23, the musical coincides with the 100th anniversary of America’s entry into World War I. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in period style for an evening of live music with Hot Club of Athens, the jazz project of Kishi Bashi, Keiko Ishibashi, Antoon Speters and Elijah Smith.
