Deborah Gonzalez
The next installment in the Lunch ‘n’ Learn creative talk series, co-hosted by the Athens Area Arts Council and the Lyndon House, features a presentation on creative business legality by attorney Deborah Gonzalez. Gonzalez works with visual artists, authors, filmmakers, musicians and virtually every other type of creative professional to navigate the laws protecting their intellectual property and the business of distributing creative work in the digital age. Her presentation, “Do You Own Your Own Work? A Legal Primer for Artists,” will touch on legal issues related to authorship and derivation in creative work, such as copyright law, registration, licensing and fair use defenses.
