Athens Symphony Pops Concert

Pulling from popular theater, opera, ballet and film scores, the Athens Symphony’s Pops Concert—a tradition launched in 1985—is one of four free performances the community orchestra offers annually. This year’s program includes “Grand Pas Espagnol” from Raymonda, “Suite No. 2” from Carmen and selections from The Phantom of the Opera. The evening’s featured guest is piano soloist Jim McKillip, who has arranged four selections to perform with the symphony: “Midnight Sun,” “An Affair to Remember,” “My Heart Will Go On” and “Bronislau Kaper Medley.” Admission to the concert is free, but tickets are required for entry and can be picked up at the Classic Center Theater Box Office.
