Goodie Two Shoes

Hey, remember when we told you about Mama’s Boy opening a new restaurant in the 909 Broad Building downtown, only it didn’t have a name yet? Well, now it does. Cooper Currin, co-owner, confirmed that Goodie Two Shoes is opening Dec. 1 for lunch. She said the space has already been used for catering and that she’s looking to start booking private events in the spring. The website is a placeholder for now (but has hours—weekdays from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.—and the phone number), and the Facebook page has some sneak peeks of the interior.

More food news:

South Kitchen + Bar is starting a family-style supper club this Sunday, with drinks at 7:30 and dinner at 8 p.m. The charge of $18 gets you food plus one drink. Reservations aren’t required but can be made at reservations@southkitchenbar.com.

In case you missed it in the Thanksgiving takeout article, Saucehouse, on Broad, is now looking at a March 2015 opening.

Graduate Athens, the new hotel that used to be the Foundry Park Inn & Spa, has a coffee bar called Iron Works Coffee, in its lobby. To attract some attention, it’s running a scavenger hunt Dec. 8–12 targeted at UGA students. If you find one of 15 mini-composition notebooks, there’s a token inside for a free coffee (La Colombe) and pastry. Clues will be posted on the hotel’s social media channels.
