Y’all, with all the other things going on in town this weekend (too many to list), it would be easy to overlook the Classic City Brew Fest, which happens on Sunday, April 7, from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at the Foundry Park Inn/Melting Point. Tickets are about $40 (you can buy them on the site) and include a subscription to Beer Connoisseur magazine, but the real attraction is the ridiculous number of beers that will be available. With about 300 offerings, including 18 ales in the Cask Ale Pavilion, you should by no means attempt to taste them all, but anyone who appreciates fine beer (hoppy, wheaty, sour, or other) will be satisfied. Proceeds benefit the Athens Area Humane Society. Rooms at the Foundry are available should you choose to crash there (a good idea).
