The music created by Maine songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Beam owes more than a little to the spacier side of Athens’ Elephant 6 collective, so it’s fitting that Beam will share Monday’s Flicker bill with French Exit—the lo-fi pop group fronted by E6 associate AJ Griffin—as well as Ear Ear, a one-time “concept band” that is shrouded in mystery but reportedly contains some of the collective’s heavy hitters. The ever-prolific Beam recently released a new EP, Something Came From Nothing, whose four psych-speckled songs offer both mystique and clarity. He’ll perform new material and past favorites in Athens as part of a duo.
