Athens for Everyone will be picketing the Prince Avenue Wendy’s at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 27 to pressure the fast-food chain into improving the treatment of farm workers.

According to A4E, Wendy’s is the only major fast-food chain that hasn’t joined the Fair Food Program, an initiative started by the Florida-based Coalition of Immokalee Workers. Corporate produce buyers pay a one-penny-per pound surcharge that goes into farm workers’ paychecks as a bonus, and the program also guarantees basic labor rights such as breaks.

So, I guess no more spicy chicken sandwiches 🙁
