Lanoue Announces Shakeup at Cedar Shoals

Clarke County School District Superintendent Phil Lanoue announced he’s reshuffling administrations at Cedar Shoals High School and Whit Davis Elementary School in the wake of Cedar Shoals Principal Tony Price’s suspension.

Price was placed on administrative leave Friday as district officials investigate the mishandling of an alleged sexual assault at Cedar Shoals in January.

Starting Tuesday, Whit Davis Principal Derrick Maxwell will serve as interim principal at Cedar Shoals.

Roger Edmonds is being reinstated as athletic director and will serve as assistant principal. Edmonds remained at Cedar Shoals as a teacher and track coach after stepping down as athletic director in 2013.

Newly hired football coach Leroy Ryals will be given a teaching assignment with a focus on attendance.

At Whit Davis, Assistant Principal Susan Tolbert will take over as interim principal, replacing Maxwell.
