Last Friday at The Foundry, Aubrey Entertainment presented Athens Uncovered: Revival, a benefit for Nuçi’s Space that featured an all-star lineup of performances. Promising appearances by members of R.E.M., Drive-By Truckers, Cracker, Widespread Panic and several other local luminaries, the show sold out well in advance. Thanks to JOKERJOKERtv, however, the entire night can be relived below.
JOKERJOKERtv is a homegrown media collective that airs a variety of artists on its weekly television program that airs live on YouTube and Twitch every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Athens Uncovered: Revival livestream is part of JOKERJOKERtv’s ongoing initiative to connect with local nonprofits and community organizations through in-kind sponsorships that can include livestreams or sharing footage and interviewing event organizers on the show. JOKERJOKERtv in turn relies on donations, sponsorships and volunteers to keep the camera rolling.
“We were honored to be able to do this livestream to help Nuçi’s raise money for their organization, which has been such a huge help to our community,” says Mux Blank, owner of JOKERJOKERtv. “It also gave Nuçi’s a much broader reach for their fundraising efforts because people from all over the world were able to tune in!”
Athens Uncovered: Revival kicked off Nuçi’s Space’s 25th anniversary. An Athens Uncovered online auction, featuring music memorabilia and items from local businesses, is still underway until Dec. 13. All event and auction proceeds will support the nonprofit musicians’ health and resource center in its mission to prevent suicide.
