Flagpole Premieres: Walden, The Static EP Stream

Athens four-piece Walden boasts a soaring, radio-ready sound inspired by melody-drenched megastars like U2 and Coldplay. In a testament to its mainstream appeal, the band won the Road to Roo competition in both 2016 and 2017, earning it a spot on the Bonnaroo lineup and a legion of new fans to boot.

Tomorrow, Apr. 5, Walden releases a new EP, The Static, the follow-up to last year’s Green Lights EP and a continuation of the group’s journey into widescreen popdom. Says the band:

We live in a new age where our time and attention are being hijacked by the constant stimulation all around us. The Static chronicles the band’s attempt to navigate through the perpetual noise that pervades everyday life in search of something else—something of true purpose and meaning which brings one the sense of truly feeling alive.

We’ve got an advance stream of the four-song EP, which you can check out below:

Walden will play Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Music Festival next month.
