Flagpole Premieres: Elf Power, ‘Cycling Aimlessly’ Video

Local indie-rock stalwarts Elf Power are riding high after releasing Twitching in Time, a career highlight, back in May. Following a summer tour with Tobin Sprout, the band is settling back in to Athens life and ushering in autumn with an animated collage video for Twitching in Time gem “Cycling Aimlessly,” which we’re pleased to premiere today.

The clip, directed by artist Gary W. Granger, is a colorful counterpart to Elf Power’s sunny psychedelia. Stream it below:

No local dates this fall for Elf Power, but the band plays the free outdoor Jam Room Music Festival in Columbia, SC—along with Guided by Voices, Hiss Golden Messenger, Bombadil and more—on Oct. 14.

The group next plays Athens Jan. 19, when it will appear with Camper Van Beethoven and Robyn Hitchcock at the 40 Watt Club as part of the annual Camp-In series.

Twitching in Time is available in vinyl, CD and digital formats via Bandcamp.
