Is it emo? Is it alt-country? Is it dad-rock made by a bunch of precocious twentysomethings? Cardinal‘s evasiveness when it comes to genre is part of its appeal. Literate but unpretentious, lush but lean, Cardinal proves that Pinegrove is a philosophical leader among its emo-revival peers.
