‘It’s Friday’ Airs 300th Show Today

It’s Friday,” the popular radio and TV collaboration between WUGA, the UGA Broadcast Office and UGA’s Music Business Program, celebrates a milestone today at 3 p.m., when its 300th episode airs live on WUGA 91.7 FM.

The program is re-aired with video on The University Channel, channel 15 on UGA’s campus, as well as channel 181 on Charter and online(In the interest of full disclosure, I appear on the show most weeks for a concert calendar segment.)

The show features local and touring bands performing in-studio in a stripped-down format, and has been hosted by local personality Robb Holmes since its inception in 2002.

In 2012, Holmes told the Athens Banner-Herald the transition from radio-only to television was “scary… I’m a radio guy, and I’ve been told I have the perfect face for it.”
