Tonight in Athens: DubConscious, Nurture

Dubconscious

Several shows to get all excited about tonight. Start squirmin’:

Long-running local dub reggae collective DubConscious returns after a substantial hiatus, playing its first show at the Georgia Theatre since the venue burned and was rebuilt. It’s also the band’s first show with original bassist Solomon Wright since 2010. The group is reportedly compiling an expansive set of live material for an upcoming album; plans for a record of brand-new tunes are also in the works.

At Caledonia, post-hardcore outfit Nurture kicks off a two-week tour in support of a recent split EP with fellow screamo standouts Antpile, who also play tonight.

Finally tonight, Philly-based rock band Low Cut Connie brings its booze-soaked barroom anthems to Green Room.  UPDATE: Low Cut Connie has been forced to cancel due to tour-van issues.
