Tonight in Athens: Woggles, Americana, Megafauna

There’s a whole lot of live music happening this weekend, as the Twilight Criterium returns and Creature Comforts makes its debut. Kick things off tonight with one of three Flagpole-approved happenings. Or, hell, go to all three!

At Green Room, erstwhile Athenian rabblerousers The Woggles play their first official local show since 2007. Rock and/or roll the night away with the sweetest garage jams this and that side of the Mississippi.

All across downtown, the Athens Americana Music Festival will showcase the best in local and regional roots music. Friday, Big C & the Velvet Delta headlines the one-night-only outdoor stage, while blooz jammers North Mississippi Allstars close things out at the Georgia Theatre. Check the full schedule here

Finally, at Go Bar, Austin, TX alt-indie upstarts Megafauna (not to be confused with North Carolina’s Megafaun) bring their brand of heavy, melodic, vaguely math-y rock and roll to town. Locals TaterZandra and Monsoon support.
