Watch a Psychedelic New Video from Future Ape Tapes, Playing Schlitzmas Saturday

Shapeshifting psych-noise outfit Future Ape Tapes—a duo comprised of local dudes Donald Whitehead and Tom Visions (formerly Tom Television)—has just released a new album, Lives, which you can stream or download for a name-your-price fee over on Bandcamp. That’s the splendiferous cover art above.

Says Whitehead:

The album really has two sides. Tracks 1-7 comprise side X, a more uptempo psychedelic affair, while tracks 8-11 form side Y, a slow burning ambient come-down. We played most of the album “live” in the studio, hence the title.

Below, stream the new video for “Bodily,” the album’s skittering, psychedelic second track.

Catch Future Ape Tapes live tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 7, at Flicker Theatre & Bar, where they’re set to perform as part of the Schlitzmas festival. Read our article on Schlitzmas, which continues tonight, here
