Formerly the frontwoman for Birmingham punks P.S. Eliot, songwriter Katie Crutchfield has branched out on her own as Waxahatchee, a leaner, more melodic solo project. Now based in Philadelphia, Crutchfield has two stellar records of confessional folk-pop under her belt.
