Tonight in Athens: Woe, Rene LeConte, Wild Child

There’s a pretty stellar bil of heavy music over at the Caledonia Lounge tonight, featuring locals Pale Prophet and Antpile as well as Richmond, VA’s Inter Arma and Philly black-metal phenoms Woe, a band fronted by guitarist Chris Grigg whose latest album, Withdrawal, can be streamed below:

If it’s skewed synth-pop you’re after, ATHICA presents a night associated with its CONTENT exhibition at the 40 Watt Club, headlined by Joe Kubler’s Rene LeConte project, whose new album Young & Dumb we hipped you to a couple weeks back. Cody John LaPlante, a New Hampshire-based poet who’s also appearing at Avid Bookshop this evening, will perform as well.

Finally, the Melting Point‘s Terrapin Tuesday series continues with Wild Child, an Austin, TX-based folk-pop group who does the sweet-harmonies-and-spectral-instrumentation thing quite well. Stream Pillow Talk below:
