Today, Hunter Morris & Blue Blood reveal “Give Me Back The Days,” the poppy yet laid-back opening track off of the upcoming LP Give In To Livin’ that’s slated to be released on Nov. 19 through Super Canoe.

“’Give Me Back The Days’ is me doing an assessment of my life up to this point and what I regret or question about the choices I’ve made and the life I’ve lived so far,” says Morris. “It was the obvious choice as the album opener because it sets up a theme of reflection and existentialism that all of the other songs wrestle with throughout the remainder of the album.”

Equal parts resolute acceptance of the past and hopeful optimism for the future, the new album presents a time capsule of where Morris currently is in his life. Joining him on the recordings are Hank Sullivant (Kuroma), Phillip Brantley (Palace Doctor), Avery Leigh (Night Palace), Nicholas Robbins (Velveteen Pink) and Jeremy Wheatley (Sailors and Ships).

Morris says of the album, “Give In To Livin’ is about getting older and looking back on life and how I got here. Kind of an overall existential what the fuck? But I hope the album conveys equal weight towards looking forward while learning from the past to make the rest of my life the best that it can possibly be. Live life and live it hard and have an absolute blast in the process.”

Hunter Morris & Blue Blood will perform at the 40 Watt Club on Saturday, Oct. 30 with Convict Julie, Blunt Bangs and Heffner, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. Around midnight, the show will turn over to a Prince-themed dance party led by DJ Mahogany and DJ Problematic for the People. Costumes are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded to favorites.

“Give Me Back The Days” will become available on streaming platforms Oct. 28. Head to Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the band.
