If you were to hazard a guess at which Athens-based franchise would be the first to expand not only overseas, but into South Korea, you’d probably have picked Barberitos or Your Pie or even the very determined Keba Spitfire Grill. Not DePalma’s. But such it is, and unless we’re falling for an elaborate prank, DePalma’s has plans to open two of its restaurants in Seoul to start out with and more later. The connection, as you might imagine, is UGA. Kwansik Lee, who owns the two awarded franchises, has a daughter who went to school here, and during his visits, he developed an affection for the Italian restaurant. DePalma’s is seeking other folks for its franchises, which are managed by National Franchise Associates. If you’re interested, call 706-201-9222 or visit www.depalmasitaliancafe.com.
