Poquitos Opens Today, Bar Bruno Opens Friday and More Food News

Poquitos, the taco place in the former Go Bar at 195 Prince Avenue from the owners of The Grit and Pedro de Paz of Ted’s Most Best, opens for its first day in business today (Wednesday, Dec. 21). Described as “authentic Mexican food” in its Instagram bio, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. and features birria, carnitas, tinga, steak, chicken and veggies as taco fillings. Also: sopes, tostadas, pambazo, pozole, tortas, quesabirrias, sangria, buckets of beer, micheladas, beer, wine, Jarritos and Topo Chico.

Bar Bruno, the revamped Dinner Party in Five Points, will do its first day of business on Friday, Dec. 23, with a small menu of snacks, beer, wine and cocktails. It’s on Instagram at @barbrunoathens.

Missing The Grit’s desserts? You’ll soon be able to order them through Daily Groceries. Some baking equipment donations from the now closed Heirloom Café are enabling the bakers to get back on the job. Right now, they’re still in the practicing phase, but keep your eye out for ordering details in the near future.

Weaver D’s is serving a meal to the needy on Christmas Day from 1–4 p.m., with caroling from 12–1 p.m.

Square One Fish Co. is adding a food truck next year.
