Mama’s Boy #3 Is On The Horizon

So, after everyone complained on Facebook that there weren’t enough locally based businesses at Watkinsville’s Wire Park development, here’s one for you: The third location of Athens-grown, eminently local and beloved business Mama’s Boy will also join the Wire Park food hall.

Co-owner Cooper Currin Hudson said, “We are so excited about the Wire Park project. The thought that they have put into the community speaks to our company’s values, and we are honored to be a part of it.”

She’s excited about both expanding the business and simplifying its model at the same time. The OG restaurant has a huge menu, with lots of loyal customers who all have their favorite items, but the food hall location will strip down the menu a good bit. Biscuits will be present, of course, and coffee and strawberry lemonade. But the rest of the menu is yet to be worked out. Like the other two locations, it’ll focus on breakfast primarily, with a little bit of lunch, and keep similar hours.

Look for this third Mama’s Boy to open in the fall, possibly, as well as for the original Oak Street location to get a facelift this summer.
