Looking for a sneak preview of Puma Yu’s, the new brick and mortar restaurant/cocktail experience from some of the folks behind the Side Hustle? It won’t open for a while yet (in the Southern Mill complex), but its owners are doing a lunch pop-up at Buvez this Wednesday–Friday (October 27–29) from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. with some spicy Thai options.

McAlister’s is open in the former Steak & Shake on Broad Street.

Creature Comforts’ downtown taproom has Rodney Scott’s BBQ serving plates during every home football game this year (that’s two more, if you’re counting). The Black-owned franchise out of Charleston, SC focuses on pork (cooked by the whole hog) with a spicy sauce, and has locations in Atlanta and Birmingham. With Agua Linda getting ready to reopen its Prince Avenue location (hopefully within the next week or so), you can also find its food truck, La Carreta, at Creature, Oglethorpe Garage, Southern Brewing Co. and elsewhere (check Facebook for locations and hours).

Hendershot’s is serving lunch once again, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays for now.

Athens is getting a location of West Coast franchise Pizza Factory, which looks like most other pizza franchises that exist.

Broad Events is a catering company that serves as a middleman for events, partnering with several different local restaurants and chefs to provide food and supplying its own staff to work weddings, private parties, etc., at Wall and Broad, a venue in downtown Athens at the corner of those two streets.

Oconee Brewing Co. is creating a spot for The Burch food truck, run by Casey Burchfield, doing smash burgers and such. He’s also offering Thanksgiving catering.
