The Classic Center presents the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, performed by the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine, for two performances on Dec. 22–23. The beloved ballet follows a young girl’s adventures through a wintry fairytale world of wonder and magic, accompanied by complex and beautiful dances. The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine was founded in 2018 and is hosted by Classical Arts in Brooklyn. The troupe consists of 55 Ukrainian dancers who join together each year to perform in North America. Due to the Russian invasion of the country, the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine has seen a rise in attention to their performances, as well as a rise in attendance for young dancers who are invited to join them on stage.
