Goth Dad, Dagmark Vork, Canary Affair

From the unlikely indie-rock mecca of Hattiesburg, MS, comes Goth Dad, a flannel-clad five-piece conjuring the moonlit moodscapes of 1980s dream-pop. Chorus-saturated guitar tones and twinkly synths guide 2018’s Fade EP, an impressive four-song outing where the songwriting stands up to the sonics. After wowing local listeners with a self-titled, full-band album in early 2019, indie-pop songwriter Dagmar Vork returned in fall with Suffer Fruit Demos, an ongoing collection of home-recorded acoustic oddities and the like. New local psych band Canary Affair rounds out this Flicker bill.
