Under the direction of Brian Jones, the Town and Gown Players present a production of Irish playwright Martin McDonagh’s horror-comedy The Pillowman. Set under the rule of a totalitarian dictatorship, Katurian (played by Ben Ray) is a fiction writer who is being interrogated by two detectives (Sam Hopkins and Drew Doss) because his gruesome stories, which often depict violence against children, seem to mirror a series of recent child murders. As it turns out, his nightmarish stories were inspired by overhearing the abuse his brother Michal (Josh Darnell) endured at the hands of their parents, and these stories in return motivated Michal to kill.
