After retiring from the University of Georgia in 2004, media specialist and Watkinsville resident John Weber turned his attention to the arts. Over the years, he wrote for and edited trade and special interest magazines, with photography often finding its way into his work. Raised along the south shore of Long Island, and having lived between Florida and Georgia for close to six decades, it comes as no surprise that the Eastern seaboard’s bays and estuaries take center stage in his photographs. Images of rushing waves, smooth sand dunes and other marine-life vignettes emphasize texture, color and light. Weber’s work will remain on view at Heirloom through Mar. 4.
