Turn Up the Vote

A combination political rally and concert, Turn Up the Vote will feature a who’s who of Athens-area Democratic officeholders and candidates, plus an all-star lineup of local musicians. Along with co-hosts Montu Miller and Caroline Aiken, speakers at Wednesday’s event include state Reps. Deborah Gonzalez, Spencer Frye and Jonathan Wallace; Mayor-elect Kelly Girtz; incoming county commissioners Tim Denson, Patrick Davenport and Ovita Thornton; Georgia lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Sarah Riggs Amico and more. Musical performers include David Lowery and the Georgia Crackers, the Randall Bramblett Band, Ishues, Calico Vision, Kxng Blanco, Jay Gonzalez, Squalle, Los Cantares and others.
