The museum’s thrice-annual art party offers a refuge from the summer heat with refreshments, dancing and late-night access to the galleries. DJ Kurt Wood plans to spin an eclectic mix of soul, garage, punk, new wave and other deep cuts from his collection of thousands of records. In addition to the museum’s permanent collection, the event highlights two new collections. A gift from the same couple who lends their name to the Terry College of Business, “A Legacy of Giving: C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry” includes 14 pieces of French and American art, while “Bloom Where You’re Planted: The Collection of Deen Day Sanders” features furniture, porcelain and paintings.
