Athens West, a group of business leaders and community members dedicated to promoting the viability and growth of the Atlanta Highway corridor, hosts its first annual family-friendly event Saturday in support of westside businesses. Set up in the parking lot adjacent to the former movie theater, attractions include food trucks, informational booths from area nonprofit organizations and a “junk fest” offering handmade, antique, craft and bargain items from local vendors. Activities for children will include face painting, balloon animals, touch-a-truck opportunities and games. Live entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon by Tre Powell, The Varsity Band, Venus and Reality-Check Divas.
