Career, Apparition, Blue Bodies

Having perfected its enigmatic blend of punk, post-rock, noise and spoken word, Tampa, FL band Career—led by vocalist Ryan Fouche and featuring a cast of supporting characters that includes touring Propagandhi guitarist Sulynn Hago—released a dark and dynamic four-song mini-LP, Structures, in February. The album, which will inspire fans of Slint and other esoteric 1990s rockers to bust out the heart-eye emojis, falls in that hard-to-nail sweet spot between rainy-day gloom and end-times doom. The group hits Athens for a Go Bar gig Saturday with support from local hardcore maniacs Apparition and pop-punk outfit Blue Bodies.
