Faster Circuits

Faster Circuits knows how to employ the element of surprise. After popping up way back in 2013 with a kaleidoscopic debut, Tunes of Glory, the Athens-based, Derek Almstead-led psych-rock band returned in November with an equally unexpected successor, Apophenia. Darker and more layered than Faster Circuits’ tuneful first album, the new LP, out now on Orange Twin Records, is a murky meditation on troubled times. Almstead and his crack live crew play the Caledonia Saturday evening along with surfy locals Outersea and Air Sea Dolphin, the latest project from the warped psych-pop mind of Elephant 6 guru Robert Schneider.
